Chiaki Ichihara is a girl who really likes breasts. I can pretty much stop the review right there, but just in case you think there’s more to this manga than that (there isn’t), I’ll go into a bit more detail. Breasts Are My Favorite Things in the World! Volume 1 is a Yuri four-panel gag manga published by Yen Press. The series currently has three volumes published in English.
A model student and star athlete. Who has an insatiable desire for boob fondling.
A girl with gigantic boobs.
Story is my favorite thing in the world
Chiaki likes fondling Harumi’s massive breasts. That’s it. That’s the whole book. I’m not kidding! Each four-panel page deals with some variation of boob-fondling, or Chiaki talking about how she needs to touch Harumi’s breasts in order to function as a human being.
There some more breast fondling. And some more. And some motorboating for good measure.
There’s no character development of any sort. We never learn anything about Harumi, other than she has enormous breasts and goes to a different school than Chiaki. Their relationship never progresses past groper and groped. It’s just the same joke, told over and over and over again.
I would usually add spoilers in this section, but there is absolutely nothing to spoil here. Once you’ve read the first few pages, you know the whole story. Something semi-interesting happens in the final panel, but I wouldn’t dare give that away here.
The art is nicely done. The main focus is on Harumi’s big, squishy breasts, to which the author pays extra careful attention. If you’re a fan of big anime/manga boobs (and Musume is), you’ll find plenty of eye candy here.
Is Breasts are My Favorite Thing in the World! Volume 1 worth reading?
Not especially. This book is an incredibly repetitive one-trick pony. The characters may as well be a pair of hands and a pair of breasts because that’s all you’ll see here. I’m all for anime and manga breasts. They receive far too much hate on social media, so I was happy to see a manga that flies in the face of the online tiddy puritans. But you can only say the same joke so many times.
Still, I think there’s potential here. If Chiaki and Harumi’s relationship ever progresses beyond one-sided grope therapy, there may be some interesting stories to tell (with volume 4 releasing in Summer 2021, let’s hope it does). But I’d stay away from Breasts are My Favorite Thing in the World!Volume 1, unless you like breasts as much as Chiaki does.
